The Communist Party of Swaziland mourns the passing away, on 03 January 2014 of Comrade Banele Dlamini, a long time activist of the pro democracy movement and of the National Public Service and Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU).
Cde Banele was typical of very many grassroots activists in our country, who sacrifice their vocations to fight the detested Mswati regime and who are part of the struggle for worker’s rights – one of the few formal operational areas of opposition in Swaziland.
He was always present and highly visible at pro democracy protests and in the front of the NAPSAWU burner leading in songs and toy-toy. He also made valuable inputs to the union’s day-to-day running.
