Nurses in Swaziland have engaged on a strike to demand government to pay them their overtime allowances which have not been paid since September 2010.
The Swazi Observer reported that this decision was taken on the 9th of March at a meeting of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union held in Manzini.
The Secretary of the nurses union, Sibusiso Lushaba, also called on the entire nation to support the strike by forcing government to pay them their dues.
This strike is the first among numerous protests planned for the coming weeks leading up to April. As a solidarity Network we demand that the Swazi government heeds to the nurses demands.
