To the extent to which it doesn’t interfere with the work done by the SSN, all organisations are free to do as they please in promoting their campaigns.
What we cannot allow is the hijacking of a programme that we initiated and have been running for more than a month. South African artists make a living out of music. Therefore when they boycott an event they are effectively sacrificing their salaries. It is discourteous to trivialise this by sneaking around making concessions with promoters without even consulting them.
The fact of the matter is that Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] leadership led by Solly Mapaila (SSN chairperson), Lucky Lukhele, Sammy Mashita (BIG NUZZ), Julius Malema (ANCYL President) DJ Sdunkero, and Floyd Shivambu (ANCYL spokesperson) had a teleconference that resulted in the revolutionary statement by the ANCYL calling for all South Africa artists to boycott Swaziland, and in fact we contributed in the drafting of that statement. It did not fall from a tree or get delivered by the Holy Spirit.
South African artists are hereby advised that Swazi youth in their numbers are fully behind this boycott. They have not spared the rod on those they deem to be traitors of the struggle. Moreover, the intelligent ones among the Swazi poets who were being sneaked via the back door to participate in the concert have declined the invitation, stating that they will not take turn their back on the solidarity of South African artists. They did this completely voluntarily.
Solidarity is an act of love and you do not need permission to give it, including the victim. SSN is hosting a preparatory meeting for the solidarity music festival next week Friday. THE BOYCOTT CONTINUES WITH OR WITHOUT YOU !!!!!!
