The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) today unveiled its Annual Report on the state of press freedom. The report is the result of extensive and systematic monitoring and documentation of incidents of attacks on journalists and media organisations in Somalia’s south-central regions, and in territories controlled by Puntland and Somaliland. The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) declares today that the year 2011 was characterized by the worst possible perilous conditions for journalists operating in Somalia, as they were deliberately singled out for cruel and unjust treatment. Somalie : Leading journalist murdered in Mogadishu

The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is horrified to learn that an armed man in the military uniform of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) murdered a leading broadcast journalist, Abdisalan Sheik Hassan, in Mogadishu on 18 December 2011.
