The members countries of the IGAD (Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia—Eritrea is not yet formally readmitted) have let it be known that they are to sign/ratify an accord to “deport criminals back to their countries of origin”. Djibouti has already signed the accord and others are expected to follow as the Meles regime and Khartoum have already agreed to deport those they call “criminals”. Ethiopie : Anti Terror or Anti Free Press ? Brutal repression against independent journalists

The repressive regime of Meles Zenaw has decreed a convenient anti terrorism law that is invoking to justify its repression against free journalist and all political dissidents. The so called law is such that a mild critic of the regime qualifies as terrorism. To help along, the regime has decreed quite a few journalists as terrorists even though some of them have no army or armed group or have never engaged in actions that can remotely be associated with terrorism.
