High Commissioner,
Your recent statement that the killing of 100 people at Houla (Syria) “may constitute a crime against humanity” has prompted us to remind you that the massacre of more 1000 Anuaks (Ethiopians) in Gambella a few years back is surely a crime against humanity. The order for the massacre was proved to have been given by none other than the ongoing prime minister Meles Zenawi. It is time to accuse Meles Zenawi of crimes against humanity, war crimes and of ethnic cleansing (…)

The members countries of the IGAD (Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia—Eritrea is not yet formally readmitted) have let it be known that they are to sign/ratify an accord to “deport criminals back to their countries of origin”. Djibouti has already signed the accord and others are expected to follow as the Meles regime and Khartoum have already agreed to deport those they call “criminals”.
At least in Ethiopia, the regime holds thousands of political prisoners but denies it is “even (…)

The repressive regime of Meles Zenaw has decreed a convenient anti terrorism law that is invoking to justify its repression against free journalist and all political dissidents. The so called law is such that a mild critic of the regime qualifies as terrorism. To help along, the regime has decreed quite a few journalists as terrorists even though some of them have no army or armed group or have never engaged in actions that can remotely be associated with terrorism.
