Soudan : Statement on Khartoum arrests

The Communist Party of South Sudan in no uncertain terms denounces the widespread Khartoum arrests campaign which followed the legitimate demonstrations of the Sudanese masses against the Khartoum regime’s lifting of subsidies on essential commodities. This resulted in the unprecedented rise in the prices of these commodities thus incresing the sufferings of the Sudanese masses.
The measures taken by the Sudan Government are vagrant violations of the basic human rights of Sudanese people.
The Communist Party of south Sudan demands a halt to the policy of political arrests and calls for immediate and unconditional release of the following arrested persons :
