• Ouganda : Government targets NGOs in escalation of assault on LGBT rights

  Freedom House strongly condemns Uganda’s targeting of civil society in a new and disturbing tactic in the country’s ongoing assault on LGBT rights. In a plan announced today, the government will revoke the registrations of 38 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) it accuses of promoting homosexuality, effectively banning them from operating in the country.   En Afrique du Sud, les mariages homosexuels sont permis, mais insultes et viols d’homosexuels sont monnaie courante. Pour lutter contre l’homophobie, deux équipes féminines composées de joueuses lesbiennes s’affrontent sur un terrain de foot du township de Khayelitsha à 40 km du Cap, lit-on sur RFI.. On dénombre au moins 56 000 viols d’homosexuel(le)s par an, et 31 meurtres homophobes ont été recensés ces 10 dernières années.

C’est un crime dans un pays comme le Cameroun où trois homosexuels sont actuellement en prison en attente de jugement.   Aderonke’s family was killed and she was arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death in Nigeria for being a lesbian. She fled to safety in the UK.

  A bill introduced in Uganda’s Parliament criminalizing same-sex conduct and sexual and gender identity, if adopted, would violate multiple fundamental rights, Human Rights Watch said today.   Des églises évangéliques et catholiques américaines implantent des bureaux dans plusieurs pays africains afin de promouvoir l’homophobie et la lutte anti-avortement.
