The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) denounces the closure of the Salema Center for Women's Research and Studies, by Sudanese authorities in Khartoum, along with its evacuation, without providing any grounds for doing so.

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) denounces the continued use of illegal violence by security forces in order to intimidate activists and journalists. Such violence muzzles their voices and conceals violations committed by authorities against their citizens. Mauritanie : One worker killed, several others injured and arrested during protest

ANHRI condemns the brutal violence used against workers in the foreign copper company, MCM, in Akjoujt by security forces which resulted in the death of a worker. Several others were injured and arrested.

ANHRI has denounced the Sudanese authorities' use of force to disperse demonstrators over two days in Khartoum, in addition to a rise in withholding and confiscation of newspapers. ANHRI condemns the sentence issued by a Moroccan court on 13 February 2012 against the activist Abdul-Samad al-Haidour, 25, on charges of "insulting" the King of Morocco Mohamed VI.

Cairo - ANHRI denounces the ongoing repressive crackdown of the Sudanese authorities on press freedom. Not only did the Sudanese government confiscate issues of al-Tayar newspaper last week, but ordered the suspension of the newspaper altogether on 22 February. Only one day earlier, on 21 February, it seized the entire print run of the newspapers al-Midan, al-Youm al-Taly and al-Ahdath.
