The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the North West have noted with concern the increase in the spate of woman killings and the increased rate of woman abuse and rape in the province.
It seems as if this is a monthly activity, that in the North West a woman is killed, raped or violently abused and there is a low rate of conviction of the perpetrators of these barbaric actions.

No bail-out for corrupt Swazi regime

COSATU has noted that the Swaziland government has forwarded a request to the South African government for a loan regarding the economic crisis facing the country.

COSATU and its affiliate NUM in the North West are disappointed in the manner in which some mining companies in the province are treating the members of NUM, in particular the leadership and the shop stewards.
The following mines have declared war against the leadership and are intimidating members of the union.
