Mohamed Alfatih Himah,a member of Almidan editorial board, the organ of the Sudanes Communist Party, was arrested by the military intelligence.

After being interrogated for seven hours, he was transferred to the national security ,where he is still detained. Himah was reporting on the recent election which took place in Southern Kordofan.

The election which was marred with violence, intimidation and fraud was condemned by all opposition forces. The SPLM, the governing party of the southern Sudan has refused to accept the results of the elections.

The detention of Himah comes at a time when the Bashir regime is intensifying its repression against the democratic movement , in particular trying to silence all independent journalists. As of recent the regime has increased its actions against the Sudanese progressive forces and democratic journalist.

Almidan and Agras Al Hurya were refused circulation.

Rais up your voice demand immediate release of Himah.
