  Vendredi 7 novembre, le syndicat de la métallurgie (340.000 membres) a été expulsé de la fédération nationale COSATU par 33 voix contre 24 au sein du comité exécutif national.   Le Syndicat des mineurs de Zambie (MUZ), affilié à IndustriALL Global Union, a remporté une victoire lors de sa dernière négociation collective avec Lumwana Copper Mines, une filiale importante de Barrick Gold Corporation.
