This week we learned that two jailed textile workers who were involved in recent strikes at the massive Mahalla factory complex in Egypt were set free.
A message we received earlier this week from Cairo began : “The Center for Trade Union and Workers Services (CTUWS) congratulates the families of colleagues Wael Abu Zeid and Mohamed Tolba, as well as all employees of the Ghazl El-Mahalla Company, on the occasion of their release, Sunday, May 26, 2024. The Center extends its thanks and gratitude to all the solidarity efforts and calls for their release.”
